The desert that leads to Pan de Azucar
Jose Luis’ massive truck that held six of us in the front and Frank (the van) on the back as we “towed” (carried) him to the closest town, Ovalle, for a check-up with a real mechanic. The truck’s dashboard was adorned with all sorts of religious icons ranging from pictures of Mary to a plastic hand with tassles and a prayer. We sat three in the front and three behind the three… in the front. It was a squeeze.
