The desert that leads to Pan de Azucar

This place was something out of a dream. We were looking for a place to spend a night or two with a great view and a low price. This place got a 18 out of 10 for the view and a 0 for price so we had a look but we didn’t stay.

We decided against the city and headed back down along the coast. We drove down off the highway along a dirt road that headed towards the sea. It was like an oasis. We parked Frank and then walked along a white sand land-bridge. The bridge looked man made and lead to a tiny island just off the shore.

The sea was a dark royal blue, the beaches were white and the rocks were chunky. We saw a restaurant and seven beach shacks. Beautiful, simple little rondavels that sat on the edge overlooking the sea. They were all kitted out with simple but tasteful beds, bathrooms and a little terrace out the front with a BBQ.

Sigh…
