Trekking to Machupichu
James, Garth, Desiree and I hiked up the Macchupichu mountain that overlooks the ruins. Most tourists hike up Wainapichu, visible on the far right end of this pictures. Both peaks have a great view of the ruins only Wainapichu is famous and requires one to queue at the entrance for a limited number of available tickets. I only made it half way up because my legs were done from the 4am super-steep hike we’d done to get to the entrance to the ruins, but James, Garth and Des made it all the way up to the top. The view all around us was unreal and well worth the mission.
For those of you who might one day go, I suggest the Macchupichu hike. It’s quiet and super beautiful (but tough…).
